Application of CO2 laser in 3D Printing

Introduction to SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) Technology in 3D Printing

Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) is a revolutionary 3D printing technology that utilizes a high-powered laser to selectively fuse powdered materials, predominantly thermoplastics, into solid structures.

The technology employs laser as the energy source to sinter powdered materials, thereby fabricating three-dimensional objects. Currently, the types of lasers commonly used in SLS technology include CO2 lasers and fiber lasers. Fiber lasers, in comparison to CO2 lasers, offer higher power, smaller spot size, and enhanced stability, effectively addressing critical technical challenges related to production capacity and manufacturing quality.
