The difference between RF CO2 laser and glass tube CO2 laser
Laser is the core component of laser engraving machine, laser cutting machine and laser marking machine, the type and quality of laser directly determines the processing quality of laser equipment. There are two kinds of laser generators commonly used in CO2 laser marking machine, CO2 laser engraving machine and CO2 laser cutting machine: glass tube and RF tube, so what are the differences between these two tube?
1. Different beam quality
Rf CO2 laser: The emission spot mode is close to TEM00, and the spot of this mode is round and uniform, and the divergence Angle is small. The diameter of the outgoing spot is generally relatively small, it is between 2-4mm within 100W. Different laser, its emission spot is different, the spot has 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm, 3.5mm and so on.
Glass tube CO2 laser tube: the spot mode of the outgoing light is worse than that of the RF tube, and the light in TEM00 mode cannot appear. Its divergence Angle is also relatively large, coupled with its output light spot is relatively large, the divergence Angle that can be compressed is limited, resulting in laser engraving machine and laser marking machine focusing light spot is relatively large, so the engraving and marking effect is poor.
If the glass tube is applied to the laser marker machine, it needs to be selected laser tube, a beam mirror with appropriate parameters, scanning lens etc., to change and optimize the light spots mode, thereby improving the precision of the labeling carving.
2. Service life and stability are different
RF CO2 laser: good stability, long service life, belongs to the maintenance free type. The gas can be reused without replacing the laser. DAVI laser's D series and M series design life of more than 20,000 hours, T series full ceramic cavity design of the laser design life is up to 60,000 hours. It should be noted that the dust and particles generated by the working environment will splash onto the output mirror of the laser, resulting in local overheating of the laser output mirror and being ablated. Whether it is an air-cooled or water-cooled laser, attention should be paid to maintenance during use, which can improve the service life of the RF laser.
Glass tube CO2 laser tube: power stability and laser reliability relative to the RF laser has a big gap. The life is much shorter, according to the frequency of use, the life is 3 months to 12 months, and it can not be reused and recycled, need to replace a new glass tube laser,so it is a consumable product.
4. Glass tube CO2 laser disadvantage
Traditional glass tube sealed CO2 laser, although the price is relatively cheap, but its use of high failure rate, short life, large volume, poor beam mode (thick slit), light response speed is slow, can not low power light (Poor power adjustability, the same power laser in different materials processing effect difference), these shortcomings are not only more and more difficult to meet the production and processing needs, It also restricts its long-term development.
For example, in terms of service life, the glass tube sealed CO2 laser design life of about 6000 hours, and will affect production due to failure. In addition, it is also consumable, the longer the use of time, the higher the relative cost. With the gradual improvement of production requirements, this kind of laser has become more and more difficult to meet the needs of industrial production.
4. Advantages of RF CO2 laser
The RF CO2 laser is one of the most rapidly developing technologies in the industrial laser market in recent years, and it is the best substitute for the glass tube sealed CO2 laser.
It adopts all-metallic structure, with small size, fully enclosed, compact device, sealed off operation, maintenance-free, low use cost, excellent modulation characteristics, high output beam quality (more than 3 times fine than the glass tube), high injection power density, low working voltage, convenient and adjustable output power, excellent power stability, high operational reliability, and more importantly, Rf CO2 lasers also have the advantages of long service life (design life is generally more than 20,000 hours), low maintenance costs, and can be reused after inflation without replacement. Rf CO2 lasers are more advantageous for use on high-speed moving production lines.
